During the last couple of outings discussions have been held with members of our motorhome group...
Recent, GREAT Common questions asked of a customer:
I do not see the exhaust brake or air dryer listed as covered items. Are they covered? Jake brakes are not covered as they are considered (Exhaust Parts) -------- Also, what is included in the radiator coverage? I believe the radiator in my coach has 4 sections; engine coolant, transmission fluid cooler, hydraulic oil cooler and air intake cooler(also called a charge air cooler or CAC). Are all of these covered? Yes, radiator is all of the below. CAC included. Most of these are mounted together. -------- Under suspension parts it includes compressor lines and bags and "rubberized suspension components." Does that include air bags(my coach has air suspension). Yes. -------- Under electrical, it states that solenoid(singular) and relays are covered. There are a lot of solenoids and relays in a motorhome. Are they all covered? Yes, all relays and solenoids -------- It also lists wiring harness and manually operated switches. Which wiring harness is this referring to and which switches are covered(again there are many, many of these in my coach)? Yes, all wiring harnesses and manually operated switches. If you started listing each of these components you would have to cut down all the trees on earth. Ha Ha. -------- How about the instrument panel guages and wiring? Yes, on the instrument panel gauges and wiring and manually operated switches -------- Is the air operated step cover included? Yes, on the air operated step. We refer to the step as a electic step but cover the entire system whether it is electric, hydraulic or air operated. -------- What about the windshield and windows? Are the windshield and window seals covered under gaskets and seals? No, coverage for windows or windshield gaskets. They are not mechanical parts. -------- My coach has a 1500W Trace inverter/charger and a transfer switch. Are these covered? Yes, All inverters and converters with or without the charger are covered as long as they were dealer installed. -------- What would be covered in a situatoin where a covered component failed and also caused another component to fail? For example, the trans cooler springs a leak allowing coolant to get into the trans fluid thereby ruining the transmission? Yes, coverage on both trans items. It didn't matter which started the problem and these parts are interrelated. -------- Are components that are damaged by power surges, brownouts or lightning strikes covered? No coverage for lightning, power surges or brown outs. The items are not related to the performance of the part -------- Are there maintenance documentation requirements? I do a lot of my own mainenance. What would I have to do to document that? Maintenance is sometimes required when sludge is found. Keep a log and record and receipts of what you do is all.
